I use Ultraguest because I wanted a way for people who read my stories to be able to leave anonymous comments. Folks can feel intimidated about what they want to say, so I want my readers to be comfortable. At the same time, the guestbook tool that came with my website package had no SPAM control. I was getting all kinds of ads posted in the guestbook for dating sites, drug companies, everything. So, I started looking for a guestbook service that offered a way to ensure the signers were real people and not web-crawling bots. Ultraguest was the best I found. I also like Ultraguest because it allows easy customising and ITS FREE. And reliable. The one problem encountered was not only fixed very fast but any entry lost was retrieved, too. I wish you still offered a bulletin board; I would sign up at once. I love you guys!

I was not able to add audio this time, but here is what I did:
1. I found the number of entries in the blog: four entries. Some where duplicates and I removed my own comment.
2. I entered the names of the entries and assigned a number in excel.
3. I went to random.org and picked a random number between 1 and 4.
4. I used the random number to select the winner in excel.
5. I sent money using PayPal.

I created my blog to keep students and parents informed of classroom happenings and nightly homework. I used the guestbook so students have a way to leave me messages, ask questions, or communicate their opinions in a non-threatening and fun way. It helps them feel like they have a say in our class blog and it gives me a chance to communicate back with them. They are learning to use technology and to have fun with it. They love it and some of the parents even leave messages for me. It’s a great way to open lines of communication with both my students and their parents!
